On Friday, November 4 2022 Sindh Tech Valley organized the 1st International Sindh Tech Conference at Scouts Auditorium, Sindh Boy Scouts Association Provincial Headquarters (PHQ), Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.
Dr. Arifa Bhutto, an executive team member of Sindh Tech Valley delivered the welcome address. She welcomed all the dignitaries and highlighted the salience of conducting such conferences for promoting entrepreneurship and freelancing activities in Sindh and Pakistan.
The conference featured extensive discussions and talks on the entrepreneurship ecosystem, investment opportunities, technology, agriculture, and freelancing opportunities in Sindh province.
The speakers of the conference included Mr. Asif Ikram, secretary to the government of Sindh, Dr. Mustafa Suhag, managing director of STEVTA, Mr. Ayaz Ahmed Uqaili, CTO Apricart, Mr. Favad Soomro, head of Engro Foundation, and renowned development professional Mr. Naseer Memon. Founder and chairperson of Sindh Tech Valley Mr. Ali Murtaza Solangi spoke to the conference via video link.
The talks were followed by startup pitches, where about 6 shortlisted startups pitched their ideas to investors. The top 3 startup ideas included Mixeal, Puts Up and Health Here, awarded certificates and cash prizes of 30000, 20000, and 10000 rupees. Other finalists were also awarded cash prizes and certificates.
The conference also consisted of an awards distribution ceremony and other activities. In order to acknowledge the emerging freelancers of Sindh, Mr. Nanha Freelancer and Mr. Pardeep Kumar Menghwar were awarded a token of appreciation.
On this occasion, Sindh Tech Valley also signed an MoU with Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to establish a collaboration for innovation and entrepreneurship programs between PITB and Sindh Tech Valley.
The 1st International Sindh Tech Conference was attended by a number of successful entrepreneurs, investors, progressive farmers, and freelancers.
